Mesut KAMİLOĞLU graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of International Relations in 1999. He received his Master of International Affairs degree with a concentration on Economic and Political Development from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs in 2007.
After completing banking training programme at Ziraat Bank’s School of Banking, he worked as a specialist at R&D Department of Ziraat Bank (1999-2001). He continued his career at the Directorate General of EU Affairs of the Undersecretariat of State Planning Organization as junior and later senior planning specialist (2001-2009). He served as Head of Department for EU Economic and Social Cohesion at the Ministry of Development (2009-2014). In this period, his responsibilities included economic, social and territorial cohesion, EU accession negotiations and financial cooperation, regional development and development agencies. He was appointed as Director for the Centre for EU Education and Youth Programmes (Turkish National Agency) in 2014.
